Pegasus promote a distinctive style throughout their retirement developments and Jenkins & Potter provided a practical and economic design scheme to the Design & Build Contractor Clients. With the use of loadbearing masonry walls, precast floors and timber truss roofing the construction is kept streamlined and rapid.
Capitalising on the space available is crucial and Pegasus needed to optimise the size of the buildings at each location. The constricted sites at many of the developments presented various challenges. Solutions included using Sheet Piled and Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piled retaining walls allowing for the largest possible building, while still maintaining quality and efficiency in the design. Providing cost effective solutions to dealing with any contamination found on site was a major consideration. Encapsulating contaminated soil with hard standing areas and reducing the amount of contaminated spoil by using Vibrated Concrete Columns (VCC) were some of the solutions provided for our clients.
