Great North Road

A three-storey speculative development providing high class office accommodation at a competitive price in Hatfield.

The Client and the design and build contractor, Bickerton Construction, were closely involved in the design process helping to provide a structure that was robust, easy to maintain and quick to build. Novel design and construction techniques were adopted to minimise construction times. The tiled roof was prefabricated and craned into place in just two days. The internal walls were built with large gypsum blocks which were quick to lay and self finishing.

Bickerton Construction estimates that the innovative design saved about five weeks on the construction programme, reducing costs and providing the Client with additional revenue. The Client let all the space as soon as the building was complete.
