The Crown Estate incorporates an urban estate which includes significant London holdings particularly in and around Regent Street, Regent’s Park and St. James’s. Over the past decade Jenkins & Potter have been successfully involved with these projects which require a high degree of care and attention. Crusader House is part of this large portfolio. Originally built in 1892 the building has been converted back to residential use after fifty years of providing offices. Twenty luxury apartments have now been created to an exacting contemporary standard in keeping with the area.
Jenkins & Potter adapted, repaired and strengthened the existing structure to satisfy the high standards set by the Client, the Architect and today’s purchasers. M&E services were carefully incorporated into the structure. To provide a more efficient floor arrangement the existing light wells were infilled. Attic accommodation was designed within the existing roof profile. At ground floor and basement levels the existing retail units were opened up and refurbished to suit their prestigious location.
