About Us 

Jenkins & Potter, established in 1950, is a leading Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy, with a current turnover in excess of £3 million. Operating from three offices - London, Bristol and Plymouth, the firm employs 4 Directors, 2 Associate Directors, 4 Associates plus approximately 40 technical staff.

The firm has accumulated a considerable breadth of experience in all types of building and engineering works, within all the major market sectors and covering all the principal procurement routes and building types. Our work is generally executed on schemes with a construction value between £1 million and £150 million.

A large proportion of our fee income is secured through repeat business and recommendations from a long-standing and exceptionally diversified client base, which encompasses both the public and private funding sectors. All work is in accordance with our Quality & Environmental Management System approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance to ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 standards. View our Policy.

Detailed and accurate technical reports benefit our clients with insightful and commercial recommendations. These include feasibility and pre-acquisition studies, geotechnical investigations, flood risk assessments, condition surveys and expert witness reports.

Our broad knowledge of historic building construction and traditional materials allows us to provide imaginative and practical solutions for refurbishment and remedial works.

Our teams of experienced engineers are up to date with current practice and legislation and are glad to advise and assist on client responsibilities such as Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and party wall services under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
